Susan L. Brockus, DVM, MPH, Veterinarian/Owner of Peaceful Paws Veterinary Services, LLC

Dr. Susan Brockus was born in California and raised in the rural farm area of Escalon until 1973. She then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended junior high, high school and college in Oklahoma. From the age of 9, her goal was to become a veterinarian.

Dr. Brockus attended Oklahoma State University, College of Veterinary Medicine and obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1985. Dr. Brockus also has a special interest in public health and obtained a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Iowa in 2004.

Dr. Brockus has worked as a companion animal veterinarian for over 30 years in many areas including Arkansas, Texas, Washington, Georgia, Iowa, and Nevada. During this time, she has worked in companion animal practice, emergency medicine and critical care, and public health.

Over the years her passion for hospice and end of life care for pets has grown. In 2014 she started her own business, Peaceful Paws Veterinary Services, LLC to provide in-home hospice consultation and euthanasia services for Reno, Sparks and surrounding areas.

She enjoys getting to know her clients, sharing stories, identifying a hospice/palliative plan for your pet to provide appropriate quality of life, and for your pet’s final time to be as calm and peaceful as possible in the comfort of your home.

When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and her cats.
